Introduction to the Scrap Metal Crushing and Forming Machine

News 10500

Metal cake press is an important industrial equipment, and its functions and uses vary depending on the application field. The following is a detailed introduction to the metal cake press:

  • Definition and Classification
  • A metal press is a mechanical device that utilizes the principle of physical compression to compress loose metal waste or other materials into cakes with a certain density and strength under high pressure. It is commonly used in fields such as metal processing, casting, and waste material recycling. According to different application scenarios and compression materials, metal cake presses can be divided into various types, such as metal powder cake presses, metal chip cake presses, etc.
  • working principle
  • The working principle of the metal cake press is mainly based on the strong pressure generated by the hydraulic system. Specifically, when the equipment is started, the hydraulic pump station delivers hydraulic oil to the main hydraulic cylinder, pushing the pressure head to compress the metal waste in the mold. During the compression process, air and impurities in the metal waste are squeezed out, resulting in an increase in the density and purity of the waste, ultimately forming a compact cake. At the same time, the equipment is also equipped with a waste liquid collection box, which is used to collect cutting oil and other liquids in metal shavings to prevent them from splashing around and meet environmental protection requirements.

  • Structural composition
  • A metal cake press is usually composed of a main engine, a feeding device, a hydraulic pump station, and a control cabinet.
  • Host: It consists of a frame, main hydraulic cylinder, bottom hydraulic cylinder, supporting mold frame and mold, pressure head, etc. The frame is made of welded steel sections, which have the characteristics of good rigidity, beauty and simplicity. The main hydraulic cylinder is forged from high-quality steel to ensure the stability and durability of the equipment. The supporting mold frame and mold press head are made of alloy ground steel, which has been designed with matching and quick replacement functions, making it convenient for users to adjust and replace according to their actual needs.
  • Feeding device: composed of reducer, feeding screw, etc. The reducer adopts a superior design with low vibration and low noise. The feeding screw is made of alloy steel and has undergone hardening treatment, resulting in good rigidity and long service life.
  • Hydraulic pump station: composed of motor, hydraulic pump, pump protection device, control valve block, and connecting pressure block. It is responsible for providing a stable hydraulic power source for the entire equipment to ensure its normal operation.
  • application area
  • Metal cake presses are widely used in factory workshops and waste material recycling centers to compress and process various metal and non-ferrous metal waste materials. The waste metal shavings compressed by the cake press can be well stacked in the factory, saving a lot of factory space. At the same time, the compressed metal shavings are convenient for transportation and recycling by subsequent recycling companies. In addition, metal powder cake presses are commonly used in pressing processes and forming processes, such as forging, stamping, cold extrusion, straightening, bending, flanging, thin plate deep drawing, powder metallurgy, press fitting, etc.
